About Schall AI

Tools built in practice.

Schall AI is offered by Markus Schall. The plugins are developed in the daily operation of a multilingual online magazine – and share one AI layer that runs in the cloud or on your own computer.

01 — AI layer

An AI layer for all plugins.

Every Schall plugin comes with the same AI Kit. Within it, you set up providers, keys, and daily limits, and decide per plugin where the processing takes place – with the cloud provider of your choice or on your own computer. Give it a try.

End-to-end encrypted, without port forwarding

Per plugin selected. Each plugin gets the provider that fits – for example, translations in the cloud and long articles on your own computer. If the computer is asleep, a fallback provider can take over if you wish.

Content Studio

Plans, writes, and revises long, evidence-based articles and entire pages in your website's actual preview.

02 — What sets it apart

What makes Schall AI different.

AI layer

One layer for all plugins

Every plugin comes with the same AI Kit. Providers, models, and keys behave the same everywhere, and the plugins coordinate how many requests are sent to a provider simultaneously.

Local

Local AI as a real option

With the Local Connector, your own Mac does the computing – for every Schall plugin, end-to-end encrypted and without port forwarding. The Connector will be available soon.

Costs

A limit that holds

Before every call to a cloud provider, the Kit reserves its share of the daily limit, so even jobs running in parallel cannot exceed it.

Overview

All jobs in one place

A shared view shows the jobs of all Schall plugins and the load on the providers and the Local Connector.

Connected

The plugins know each other

Content Studio uses SEO Suite and Internal Links when they are installed. Approved suggestions from the Content Radar go to the Translation Adapter.

Later

Sound AI Memory

Schall AI Memory will be added later. It uses the same AI layer, also with local text and image AI.

03 — Principles

How we use AI.

01

Drafts, not automation

The plugins suggest, you decide. Publishing is done by hand, never in the background.

02

Traceable

Every suggestion is justified, every change is logged and reversible.

03

Cloud or on-premises

OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, or your own models via Ollama – you choose where your data goes.

04

Multilingual

Built for multilingual websites with TranslatePress, interfaces and manuals in up to eleven languages.

AI in his daily work

Made in his own workshop.

Markus Schall has been developing database and business software since 1994. It all started with an Atari ST, which he upgraded with memory boards as a teenager. Later came a sales management system based on FileMaker that still runs at several Creditreform locations, his own business as an Apple Premium Reseller in Oldenburg and finally the ERP software gFM-Business.

Today he brings together software, publishing and AI. His books are published by M. Schall Verlag, his magazine markus-schall.de appears in several languages – and that is exactly where the Schall AI plugins are made. Whatever they can do has to prove itself in his own editorial work first.

He has been using AI in his own work for years, from local language models, custom adapters and model comparisons to AI agents. To him it is a tool, not a substitute for thinking or responsibility. That is why the plugins suggest and you decide.

One principle runs through all his projects: control over your own data. His ERP software runs on his customers’ own servers rather than on third-party platforms. The same conviction is why Schall AI lets you run the AI on your own computer.

“Freedom means understanding the things that surround you – and maintaining control over your own data, tools, and decisions.”

Markus Schall’s credo
